AFACT has been defending the safe uses of technology in food production for nearly 1.5 years now! What an amazing time this is! There are many different thoughts from consumers, retailers, and farmers that make the advancement of this organization so interesting.

AFACT is actively having dialogue with consumers during our recently launched educational discussion forum, AFACT Agricultural Education and Dialogue. We are hoping to capture some opinions and perceptions that will help us be more effective in reaching our goals. The gap in consumer understanding of how their food is produced is substantial.  To see a perfect example of this, look below for the clipping photo under the heading “Why We Do This!”

We have also had several virtual webinars that have taught or given a refresher course on advocating for safe technology, especially at the retailer level.

We sent a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, and we continue to have a presence at major meetings such as the National Grocers Association Convention, World Ag Expo, Western Dairy Management Conference and others.

But through all this busy and important stuff, we truly need input from YOU. We need your stories, your experiences, your opinions and your concerns. We need for you to forward blogs and website links that you like and tell us about the ones that you hate! This information will help us to be more responsive to you and also to react to the controversies that affect your ability to be the best producers you can be. You can hit “reply” to any email from AFACT, or contact us at information@itisafact.org. We hope to hear from you soon. Now, read on!
